Common questions about the MINI App
Do I need to create a new login for the MINI App?
IIf you’ve previously registered with the MINI Connected App, the ConnectedDrive website, or the My BMW website, you can simply login with the ID used on these accounts. If you’ve never used these applications, then you’ll need to register for an account on the MINI App with a valid email address. If you’re not sure if you have a current ID, try using the “Forgot Password” feature and enter in the email address you think is associated.

How do I connect my vehicle to the MINI App?
If you’ve previously used the MINI Connected App, the ConnectedDrive website, or the My MINI Garage Website, your vehicle should automatically appear upon logging into the MINI App.
If you are a new user, log into the MINI App, tap “Add Vehicle” and follow the in-app instructions to connect your vehicle. You will need access to your MINI during this process.
What models is the MINI App compatible with?
In the United States, the MINI App is only supported by vehicles that were built after March 2018 and have the optional MINI Connected Services in combination with a compatible smartphone. The optional Remote Services option is required for an optimized MINI App experience.
How do I set up Amazon® Alexa for my MINI in the MINI App?
To set up Amazon Alexa car integration in your MINI, first start the setup in the MINI App:
- Open the "Profile" tab and select "Amazon Alexa" in the "THIRD PARTIES" section.
- Then select "Connect" next to "Amazon Account".
- Now log in with your Amazon account and agree to "Allow" your Amazon account to connect to your MINI ID.
- Select a language for Amazon Alexa voice control and enable “Share Location” to get information at your MINI's location.
Complete the setup in your MINI:
- Connect your smartphone to your vehicle via Bluetooth Audio.
- In the vehicle, activate the "Apps" option in the detail settings of your smartphone.
Then select "My MINI" > "System settings" > "Data protection" in the operating menu of your MINI and activate the option "Voice recognition via server". Your MINI now displays the "Amazon Alexa" app under "MINI Connected" > "Vehicle Apps". You can activate Amazon Alexa via the voice control button on the steering wheel.
To use the Amazon Alexa car Integration, your MINI must be a model year 2019 and newer with the option ConnectedDrive Services and the Connected Navigation Plus package and a compatible smartphone. Certain language limitations may apply. Available apps and services are subject to change and may vary by location or other factors. May require additional services, plans, subscriptions and vehicle options, and may only be operable in conjunction with certain smartphones and operating systems (smartphone not provided). Not all apps or services may be available for all MINI models.
Is it possible for multiple users to add the same vehicle in the MINI App?
Yes. Currently, two MINI IDs can be connected to a vehicle: a primary subscriber and a secondary subscriber.
